Americarna

Americarna is a celebration of American themed vehicles and aims to be an event the whole community can enjoy.
 
Starting in New Plymouth, the Americarna vehicles cruise in convoy to different destinations and stop for a display in each town, including Stratford, Opunake and Hāwera.
 
As one of the biggest free events in the Taranaki region, there are many costs to cover, including road closures and the costs of family entertainment.
 
Funding of $20k from Toi Foundation assists with the costs of putting on the event.
 
Total revenue is expected to be in excess of $4 million, as tens of thousands of visitors come to the show. Schools and other organisations benefit from the funds they raise from food stalls. 
 
Americarna 2023 is the 15th annual event held in Taranaki.
